Rain…rain…and a little more rain.
That’s what the weather has been like for the last several days here in the Atlanta suburbs. And if the forecasters are to be trusted, that’s what the near future holds as well.
Now, I can appreciate an occasional shower or a few sprinkles here and there, but too much gray and dampness leaves me longing for some sunshine. So, when I looked out the window this afternoon and saw that there was a pause in the precipitation, I ran (did not pass go, did not collect $200) outside to snap a few pictures.
The first stop was the front yard, to capture the brightness and the beauty of a few flowers.

Then, I scurried to the backyard to spread some fresh seed and snap some pictures of whoever showed up to partake of the offering.
To narrow down which pictures were post-worthy, I decided that only those caught in the act of grabbing a bite to eat would qualify.

…oh, who knows when I’ll get to take more pictures…I’ll share three more…

I honestly am thankful for the rain, but I’ll honestly be more thankful when it’s sunny again!
Great captures Kathy! Have you noticed a sudden increase of birds lately? 🙂
It does seem like it’s picking up a bit.
Wow! Beautiful birds and flowers, and one charming outlaw 🙂
He is a welcome guest when he brings his own food…just not when he eats all the peanuts I put out! 🙂
Reblogged this on SEEN ALONG THE TRAIL and commented:
For all you nature lovers, here are some wonderful flower and bird pictures (with a squirrel thrown in for good measure).
Wonderful pictures, Kathy. I especially love that red hibiscus.
Thanks – and thanks for the re-blog. 🙂
A great show of flowers and birds Kathy, I love the squirrel with its guilty look. I saw my first one in London a few months ago, and they all seemed to have this on guard guilty look, I found it quite amusing. Thanks for sharing.
They do tend to lack rather furtive and guilty, don’t they!
It hasn’t stopped for two days here either! Trying not to complain after two beautiful weeks! The birds are busy here too – I imagine stocking up for their journey. Great photos!
If you have any birds heading south for the winter, give them my address. 😉
Great photos! My fav is the furry outlaw! Cracked me up!!! 😄😊😄
I shake my fist at him, but I secretly think he’s kinda cute. 🙂
I have a squirrel that is hiding his peanuts in my yard. I keep telling the cat to chase him off! lol 🙂
Wow, that squirrel at the end… Love it!!! ❤️
Kathy, you and I ARE sisters. I say that “Do not pass Go” phrase every now and then, and I’ve never heard anyone else say it! Love your photos but the squirrel is my hands-down favorite! Thank you for sharing him!
Well, our birthdays are only a week apart! And it does seem like we have a good bit in common. 😉
