Precipitation Pause

Rain…rain…and a little more rain.
That’s what the weather has been like for the last several days here in the Atlanta suburbs.  And if the forecasters are to be trusted, that’s what the near future holds as well.

Now, I can appreciate an occasional shower or a few sprinkles here and there, but too much gray and dampness leaves me longing for some sunshine.  So, when I looked out the window this afternoon and saw that there was a pause in the precipitation, I ran (did not pass go, did not collect $200) outside to snap a few pictures.

The first stop was the front yard, to capture the brightness and the beauty of a few flowers.

Then, I scurried to the backyard to spread some fresh seed and snap some pictures of whoever showed up to partake of the offering.

To narrow down which pictures were post-worthy, I decided that only those caught in the act of grabbing a bite to eat would qualify.

I honestly am thankful for the rain, but I’ll honestly be more thankful when it’s sunny again!

  1. A great show of flowers and birds Kathy, I love the squirrel with its guilty look. I saw my first one in London a few months ago, and they all seemed to have this on guard guilty look, I found it quite amusing. Thanks for sharing.

  2. It hasn’t stopped for two days here either! Trying not to complain after two beautiful weeks! The birds are busy here too – I imagine stocking up for their journey. Great photos!

  3. Kathy, you and I ARE sisters. I say that “Do not pass Go” phrase every now and then, and I’ve never heard anyone else say it! Love your photos but the squirrel is my hands-down favorite! Thank you for sharing him!
