Lovely post Kathy, love the shots of your birds. It amazes me how they can hold three peanuts in the beak at the same time. Is the Blue Jay feeding its family or is it just greedy?
He is just greedy. He can pack in about a dozen at a time (they have a special throat pouch) and then fly off to enjoy them at his leisure.
He reminds me of our teddy bear hamster “Doodles”. It’s amazing what he can store. Great pictures. Our feeders have slowed down a bit since the weather has been mild.
We had a lull too, but it is picking back up now that we have had colder mornings. In fact, even as I sit here, I can hear the Blue Jays telling me their breakfast hasn’t arrived yet! Bossy buggers! Love you too!
more amazing shots! Love them! 🙂
They were fun to take! I think since it’s getting colder, the birds are happy to gobble up protein.
Picture perfect plumed prattle. Nicely done!
Ahhh…an alliterative reply…makes me smile. 🙂
Pretty perfect peanuty photo posers! Hehe! 😄
Now that’s quite a clever comment. 🙂
I like how they all have that “caught in the act” look. (K)
They do indeed, don’t they!
Probabilties predict plenty of peanut-pecking perambulations by those pretty posers!
Cute! and well illustrated!
