Tennessee Christmas

One of my favorite Christmas songs is Amy Grant’s version of Tennessee Christmas.  I can’t help but smile and sing along whenever I hear this song.

Well, yesterday we had our own Tennessee Christmas.  Hubby, the kids, and I packed up the presents and journeyed to the  outskirts of Knoxville to spend the day celebrating with family.  It was a day filled with card games, and gift giving, and cookie eating, and much laughter.  To top it off, my companions gave me time to indulge in a bit of bird picture taking.

Here are a few of their backyard visitors.
This male Cardinal gobbled up seed while his female counterpart watched from the nearby branches.

Titmice and Nuthatches also made frequent landings.

A steady drizzle fell for much of the day, but it didn’t dampen our spirits and it didn’t deter the birds.

In the end, a lovely time was had by all.

  1. Oh I love that song too. Love her Christmas albums and Alabama may have done a nice version of that song too. My favorite Christmas song of hers is Breath of Heaven. That gives me chills. Oh and I Need a Silent Night. She’s wonderful. I’m so glad you had a nice time, Kathy! 💛 Can’t wait to draw these birdies later!

  2. Breath of Heaven is wonderful. But, Mary Did You Know steals my heart. You did our birds proud…and the visit was just awesome. So much fun.

  3. Sounds like you had a fun time with your family! I remember how I used to gather together with my family and play games. Wonderful memories! 💖💕 Love your bird photos too! 🐦
