What better way to start the day than with a lighthearted limerick? The Yellow-rumped Warbler is the featured bird in today’s rhyme.
A more dashing bird you won’t find
than the Warbler, the Yellow-rumped kind
He’s so lively and quick
He could pass for Saint Nick
If it weren’t for his buttery behind!
Seriously though, how can you not just fall in love with this bird?
And since this is the fifth lighthearted limerick to make its appearance on this blog, I decided it warranted its own category. 🙂
Buttery behind. Very good!
Why thank you! 🙂
love these too! buttery behind – love! 🙂
It always surprises me how much darker they get by the end of winter.
I am learning that as I watch too!
Lol, Santa could use a buttery behind to squeeze into his britches! Love your birds and verse, Kathy!
Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Beautiful , love these too 🙂 🙂
Thanks for the kind words. 🙂
Just way too cute, Kathy! I just finished editing a bird couple days ago and after a half hour of trying, I’m somewhat confident it’s a Yellow-rumped Warbler, although I didn’t get his buttery-butt, lol. When I post, I was going to ask you for confirmation. If I’m right, it’s another lifer for me. 🙂
Can’t wait to see it. 🙂
Very cute — both the photo and the limerick 🙂 .
Thank you! 🙂
I like this bird’s buttery behind and limericks of your kind! 🙂
Well, I joined you with alliteration, and you joined me with rhyme. Guess we are birds of a feather!
Yes! 😍😍😍
Great photos of one of my favorite birds!
One of my favorites too. 🙂
Love them all especially the ones in the beautiful soft light.
Kath.
