It’s Only Fitting

It’s only fitting that the baby bluebirds (there are two of them!) should make their first trip out of the nesting box on Mother’s Day.

The first little one landed on the deck rail…

…while baby number two perched on the Dogwood branch.

Dad was doing a lot of the feeding duties; maybe he knew it was Mother’s Day.

They only stayed for a minute and then the parents herded them off to the edge of the yard into safer territory.

I hope they visit many times in the days ahead!
