Striking A Noble Pose

Perched in a patch of sunlight, this handsome Red-bellied Woodpecker struck a noble pose!  He is another of my backyard favorites. 🙂

    lovely photograph..

  2. He is quite the debonair fellow. We have been seeing even more Red-bellied woodpeckers than usual here lately – and we usually see a lot. They seem very busy and noisy….wonder if they’re courting at this time of year already? Or setting up territorial boundaries?
