September 30, 2016September 29, 2016 Striking A Noble Pose Perched in a patch of sunlight, this handsome Red-bellied Woodpecker struck a noble pose! He is another of my backyard favorites. 🙂 Share this:FacebookTwitterLike this:Like Loading... Related Published by kathydoremus Amateur nature "photogriter." One who still marvels at majesty. Great eye capture!!
I think the sun was hitting his eye just right!
He is quite the debonair fellow. We have been seeing even more Red-bellied woodpeckers than usual here lately – and we usually see a lot. They seem very busy and noisy….wonder if they’re courting at this time of year already? Or setting up territorial boundaries?
Wouldn’t surprise me if they are staking out their territory. And they really can make quite a racket!
Such a beauty!! ❤️❤️❤️
He was looking less than stellar when he was molting, but now he is radiant!
He’s waiting for you to take more photos…haha! Sweet! 🙂
He probably was! Pretty sure he’s handsome and he knows it!
That is such a noble pose, what a gorgeous photo.
Looks like he’s puffing his chest out with pride. 🙂
That truly is a lovely pose! When I spot these guys they are always working 🙂
