Every time I turned around yesterday, this fine fellow was occupying the Bark Butter branch.
He was a bit more alert and aggressive than usual, which at first made me think he was simply declaring the territory as his own.
But when he kept fluffing up his breast feathers I began to suspect that a lovely lady must be in the vicinity.
Sure enough – it wasn’t long before this sweet gal showed up.
I’m not sure whether the food or the female was the reason for his constant presence, though I suspect it was a combination of the two; I just hope they both are regular visitors over the winter months!
Sweet couple, lovely shots!
Beautiful portraits of beautiful redheads.
They are even more beautiful in person.
Always stunning shots of this bird Kathie, you do have a wonderful vantage point there. I have to go out in the bush to find my birds.
I feel quite spoiled!
food or female? food or female? age old question – lol!!! 🙂
Isn’t it though!
What a beautiful couple they make! I too hope they will stay!
A lady RBW has visited the Back Yard Buffet this week. I’m hoping the male will join her.
I hope so too!
