The birds showed up in a frenzy yesterday afternoon; one after another swooping down for food and water. I couldn’t decide which one to feature in a post, so I opted to give several the chance to shine in a remix of My Favorite Things. And clearly, this post will be more fun if you sing along!
My Favorite Things (Backyard Bird Version)
Cardinals on branches
and bright Bluebirds sipping
Muddy-beaked Thrashers
and Chickadees dipping
Woodpeckers posing with checkerboard wings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Pine Warblers perching
and Jays peanut munching
Nuthatches nibbling
and small Sparrows crunching
Ruby-crowned Kinglets with fidgety wings
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the crow cries
and the seed flies
and my shots are bad
I stand in the midst of such beautiful wings
and soon my heart feels so glad!
