Today I decided to try a new technique while I was outside taking pictures, basically just experimenting with a different metering mode. I wanted to see if I could get the details of the birds to pop a wee bit more. May I just say that one bird in particular was more than happy to pose while I played with the camera settings.
It wasn’t the American Robin…
It wasn’t the Pine Warbler…
It wasn’t the Common Grackle…
It wasn’t the Tufted Titmouse…
It wasn’t the Red-bellied Woodpecker…
It wasn’t the Eastern Bluebird…
It wasn’t the Red-winged Blackbird…
And it wasn’t the White-breasted Nuthatch.
I actually do think I see a little more clarity in both the color and the details, but I’ll probably need to test it out some more to know for sure. And I think I know who will be more than happy to help me out…
Pretty sure my Blue Jays come bearing a sign: Will pose for peanuts!
Haha! Brilliant shots of all your friends, Kathy. I think your new technique was quite successful with these!
Thanks. 😊
Fabulous photos! Those Jays are sure happy to help! 😍
I think they are my favorite regular visitor to photograph.
Lovely photos. What metering mode did you use?
I switched to center weighted for these…normally I leave it on evaluative.
Oh ok. Thanks.
Amazing shots! And what a bird population you entertain!!!
Thanks – it’s always fun to see who shows up. 🙂
So pretty 😍 all are so happy 💜
They do seem to enjoy their food!
They are awesome! What did you do different?
Really I just changed the metering mode on the camera – switched it to center weighted and then tried my best to get the bird in the center of the focus so the camera would gather most of its info from the bird and not the surroundings.
All great photos! Mr. Bluejay loves his peanuts!
I have to confess, I have a soft spot for him!
Wow, they´re all beautiful!!! Love the little yellow one and the cutie with the giant peanut! ❤️
Great photos, Kathy. I trust there was more than 1 Blue Jay involved in these shots? That’s a lot of peanuts for one bird, unless it was storing them somewhere…
At least a dozen Jays were stopping by. 🙂
Nice pictures! And wonderful birds!
Thanks – they truly are stunning!
Oh dear! A rarely seen model shoot 🙂 Gorgeous!
Stunning….all of them Kathy you are lucky to have such a poser among the group.
He is a poser indeed!
