I have been away for a few days, watching my “grand-doghter” Lottie (a half Lab, half Shepherd rescue) while her parents were out of town.
Now that I’m back home, it was nice to spread out a buffet for the backyard birds and sit outside with my camera for a bit. Here are a handful that showed up to enjoy the Sunday brunch.
A Northern Mockingbird was indulging in a bit of Bark Butter…
…as was this Downy Woodpecker – who, by the way, is so delightful that I think these little lovelies are deserving of a solo spot in an upcoming post.
One of our resident Robins dropped in and then stepped over to the deck rail, which has trays of food attached to the outer side.
A Red-breasted Nuthatch was nabbing peanuts, again…
And the Blue Jay bro’s, when they heard that there was a partaking of peanuts taking place, decided that they too would like to be a part of the Sunday Brunch Bunch!
I think it’s safe to say that a lovely morning was had by all!
