While I Wait

I’ve been trying to entice some of my front yard birds (like the Towhees and Cardinals and Thrashers) to come to the backyard, but they have been slow to accept the invitation. They prefer the ample covering the front yard shrubs provide.

So, I decided that while I wait for them to come to me, I’ll just have to go to them!

I set up a small feeding station in the side yard, and was pleased when this Thrasher ventured forth to sample some seed.

We’ve started planting plenty of seed bearing bushes out back, so hopefully they’ll join the backyard crowd before too long.

  1. I have never seen a brown thrasher at a feeder! I have them down in AL, but we don’t have a feeder there because we’re only there for short visits. I don’t know if we have them in Michigan.
