Roses are red
As I’m sure you have heard
But a bold vibrant red’s
Also found on a bird –

Who stops by each spring
With his feathers aflame
Blazing and brilliant
He goes by the name –

Of a Tanager – Scarlet –
and pictured in pose
His breathtaking beauty
Doth rival the rose!

(*I was sitting out on my deck the other evening when this beauty paid a visit. I was thankful he stayed long enough for me to fire off a few shots!)
Such a beauty! I enjoyed the poem, too. 🙂
Magnificent shots of this beautiful Tanager, Kathy! What a joy it must’ve been to have him right there in your yard♥️
Seeing him is a rarity, so it definitely made me smile!
Striking, indeed. I’d love if he headed on over to my backyard for a nice visit.
I’ll tell him to stop by!
What a beautiful bird. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one in person.
They really are beautiful! I wish they were year round residents, but I typically only see one as they are flying through.
Now that really is SCARLET! Wow!
