Fall is the “friendly” migration time of year! You see, during the spring migration, which borders the beginning of breeding season, the birds are testy and territorial and typically don’t play well with others. But in the fall, they have a “more the merrier” mentality!
Let me show you what I mean. The other day, a Tennessee Warbler hopped into the upper part of the fountain to enjoy a bit of a bath…

…and in no time at all, he was joined by another of the same type.

Soon, a third who had been watching the action cannonballed in…

…and before long their were four in the fountain…

…nope, make that five!

But this was not to be a private bathing party, for the exclusive enjoyment of Tennessee Warblers alone – a Chestnut-sided Warbler saw what was happening…

…and flew in to join the fun!

Later, the Chestnut-sided and an American Redstart (also a type of Warbler) shared a splash…

…and then a trio of all three types enjoyed a bath at the top of the fountain.

One Warbler in the fountain is definitely fun, but when they decide to have a free for all splash-fest fiesta, well, you just can’t beat that!
Needless to say, I am loving the variety of birds that have been showing up, and I’m in total agreement with their more the merrier mentality!
What a happy sight to see, watch and photograph, I had a similar party last year with all Tree Sparrows but it was a joy to see
A happy sight indeed!
A wonderful party! 😍
Delightful. It’s like a vintage Disney display of feathered fun.
Indeed!
Awwww! “Come on in, the water’s fine” series. So fun!
That would have been a great title!
