Well, I decided to take a break from bathing today. Now, lest you make judgments about my personal hygiene habits, I’m talking about a break from bathing birds! So, instead of sharing a picture of a bird splashing about in the fountain, I thought I’d share some birds enjoying a shower instead!
We had a lovely rain the other day, and a handful of White-throated Sparrows were perched in the Quince bush, enjoying a gentle soaking.

They would come out in the open for a bit, often fanning out their feathers to capture more of the water droplets.

My “bird blind” was rather humorous. You see, I happened to glance out the bathroom window and saw these beauties enjoying the rain shower, so I went and got my camera, opened the window, and took pictures from said location!

You can see that the bush is just starting to blossom. Before long it is going to be absolutely gorgeous.

It was a lovely rainy afternoon taking pictures from my bathroom bird blind!
What a beautiful bird! We don’t have this kind of bird here, so it’s nice to see and learn about other species. And it’s already blooming? We’re still deep in winter mode here—below zero celsius and windy—and the bird feeder was full of hungry visitors today. Thank you for your beautiful photos!
I have to agree that he’s a beauty!
I love your bathroom bird blind! Flowering Quince a beauty with the showering Sparrow!! Great surprise. 😃
It really made for a nice break on a rainy day. 🙂
