We’ve all heard the rhyme “Red skies at morning, sailors take warning”…but what about red wings at morning?
Something about the brightness of the morning sun combined with the brilliance of this male Cardinal is hope stirring to me.
From the look on his face, I’m pretty sure this fellow thinks “blue wings at morning” would have been a far better post!

Hello Beautiful(s)! 🙂
Well hello….oh, you’re talking about the birds! 😉
Oh I was talking to YOU TOO Cutie! 🙂
The sunlight hit the cardinal just right! The rewards for being awake at sunrise!
I love getting up early, but boy am I ready for pajamas by dinner!
Both amazing birds, we have nothing like the cardinal in our part of Australia.
But I’ll bet you do have some amazing birds!
We do Kathy.
If you get a minute and check my blog hit the birds category and flick down through the posts , most of these bird shots are from my neighbourhood. But that Cardinal still is some bird.
I did pop over…love your little cormorant!
Woo, more stunners from Kathy *applause*! Awesome in the morning, in particular. Agree, totally! Still love that bluebird too though!
You just never know who is going to show up and pose!
Isn’t it like a miracle every time they do? Just one more little miracle around every turn at your place, Kathy.
Fantastic, Kathy, awesome eye captures! So funny, I posted on Cardinals today too. Yours are better! 😉
I think the light was hitting his eye in just the right way. 🙂
Such personality in your Red Cardinal! 😍
I love it when they tilt their head and look at you so quizzically. 🙂
That’s a beautiful set Kathy, the first Cardinal really stands out for me that’s an excellent shot.
Thank you! And so good to hear from you!
Lovely captures, Kathy!
