Mating season has clearly begun!
The other day I watched as this female Bluebird landed on the deck rail and posed rather provocatively.
Meanwhile, this handsome fellow sat in the treetops and serenaded her.
After listening to him croon away for a bit, she gave out a flirtatious chirp (at least that’s how it seemed to me!) and he immediately flew down and got her some food.
He then proceeded to bring his food gift to the fair maiden, who eagerly accepted his offering.
Yes, love is definitely in the air!
I hope this means there will be lots of little baby Bluebirds to take pictures of in the coming months!

Wow, good job spotting and capturing the courtship feeding. I’ve watched the cardinal pair engage in this but never quickly enough to get out the camera. Brava!!
