As I was uploading photos to my Flickr Photostream last night, I came across several pictures taken over the past week or so that simply didn’t make it to a post. It seemed a shame to stow them away unseen and unshared, so here are five pairs of pictures of birds that have been hanging out in the backyard.
White-breasted Nuthatch
Blue Jay
Brown Thrasher
Eastern Bluebird
Red-headed Woodpecker
By the way, if you are visiting this blog via computer and want to scroll through the Flickr photos, just click on the link on the right side of the page. If you are on a cell phone I don’t think you are offered that option, but you can click on the words Flickr Photostream in this sentence and it should take you there. 🙂
I have recently joined the Draw a Bird Day blogging group and would like to use some of your spectacular bird photos for reference for practice and possible posting.
It is always my honor when someone turns one of my photos into a painting or drawing. 😊
All wonderful. I particularly like the thrasher.
He always has that golden gleam in his eye!
You always have such great close up shots Kathy, it is such a blessing to have your bird resort set up the way you do, it must be goo because they keep coming back, maybe it is to have their pictures taken:-)
They do come close…and the zoom helps!
so glad you shared! They are so beautiful!
Thanks – it’s just not as fun to take the pictures if I don’t share them!
I already follow you on Flickr, but I love seeing your wonderful shots again! 🙂

Lovely! I’ve never seen a brown thrasher or a redheaded woodpecker in my backyard. You’re doing something very right to draw them in.
The constant supply of Bark Butter helps!
You’re right about that. It drew the pileated woodpecker to my “Bird Buffet”.
I love the woodpecker.
Me too. 🙂
Beautiful shots – I just realize what I thought I had missed some of your blog posts… Maybe I was only following your Flickr site all along?
But now that I almost never go on Flickr anymore, I get to see your lovely photographs right here in my WordPress reader!
So glad to have you along for the journey. 🙂
Thanks Kathy!
