One of the thrills of this season is that you never know what wandering Warbler might stop by mid migration.

Just this past week, three little beauties popped in to wet their feathers and quench their thirst. Although none lingered very long, they at least allowed me to get a shot or two before flying off.

First to arrive was this female American Redstart, a bird known for displaying a gorgeous fan of tail feathers.

A Golden-winged Warbler also swooped in to investigate the edge of the fountain, but was frightened off by a larger bird before he ever got in the water.

And last, but not least, this Northern Parula (also called a Blue Yellow-backed Warbler) popped in for a sip and a dip.

I just love the colors on these little birds!

I wish each of these Warblers would have opted to hang out and visit for awhile, but hey, you get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit, eh?
