My Bluebirds have a clear case of mealworm mania.
As soon as I add these crispy little critters to the seed tray, the foursome (three females and one male) show up and begin devouring this delicacy.
First they make their selection…
…and then they get to gobbling.
The Bluebirds seem to think the mealworms are still alive because at times they are pretty violent. I have taken to calling this little lady “Captain Crunch!”
For as long as there are mealworms left for munching, they pretty much gobble and repeat…
...and then gobble and repeat.
I’d say my Bluebirds are going to be pleasantly plump this season!
