The last movie I watched in an actual theater was Black Widow. In the collection of Avenger films, this was one of my favorites because it wasn’t just a series of epic battle scenes, but had some fun character development. The most enjoyable scene was when Yelena (Black Widow’s little sister) teases big sis about being such a poser. (If you haven’t seen it, or want to enjoy it again, you can click here.)
Well, when it comes to backyard birds, the White-breasted Nuthatch is by far the biggest poser.

This bird is known for the signature pose he strikes. He lands upside down on the side of a limb or trunk, lifts his chest and tilts out his head (in true superhero fashion) and then pauses as if he knows everyone is watching him. And he does it every…

…single…

…time!

So, if my backyard birds ever decide to make their own superhero movie, the White-breasted Nuthatch is sure to have a leading role, as he already has the pose down pat! Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da Batbird!
Those guys rarely stay still around here, you DO have a poser!
All nuthatches are posers, because they can! Excellent photos, Kathy. 🙂
Love this, Kathy! Btw, if you’re not already familiar with the national organization Birdability, the nuthatch is their logo: https://m.facebook.com/birdability/
I had never heard of Birdability, but checked it out. What a wonderful group!
