I remember when I was young, spending summer days at the neighborhood pool with my friends. We would be laughing and splashing and swimming and diving when all of a sudden a shrill whistle would blow and the lifeguard would yell out, “Adult swim!” That meant it was time for us to take a short break from our time in the water.

Well, imagine me blowing my whistle for this post and echoing the words of the lifeguard – “Adult swim!” You see, most of my posts lately have featured birds showing up to enjoy the fountain, but I thought I’d take a short break from the water and feature a handful of birds that are still showing up to feast on the food.

The peanuts, as always, are in popular demand. Below are a Red-bellied Woodpecker, a Carolina Wren and a White-breasted Nuthatch who are frequent visitors at the peanut platform.

A Pine Warbler and a Downy Woodpecker stopped by to munch on some Bark Butter, which is also a favorite of many of the backyard birds.

And this Cardinal, who is looking far less stunning than his typical self while he is in the feather molting process, dropped by to sample some sunflower seeds.

There! I don’t want the birds who are daily diners to feel less desirable than the ones who are here for a bath and a beverage!
